Tackling Tough Questions
Tell me more about God’s nature and why I should have an interest in God. After all, aren’t I free to choose to believe or not believe? If I choose to believe in God, what are the implications, if any? If there is a God, then shouldn’t God be busy running the universe instead of worrying about me?
We would love to help you find answers to tough questions such as these. That’s why we’ve created Tell Me More. We want to help you connect with safe places to ask questions and find answers that can provide peace.
Join us as we tackle the following topics during October.
Sunday October 7th:
What does the Bible say about me and God? Who am I?
I think we can all agree the world today is a pretty tough place to live right now. We face a lot of serious problems. Sure we try to "fix" poverty, the economy, injustice, and other issues, but things seem to get worse. What is the solution? Is there a solution? What might that solution look like and what in the world does it have to do with me?
Sunday October 14th:
Who is our Father? Is “Father” a good way to describe God? What if I don’t know what a “good father” looks like?
Some people are blessed with good fathers; others aren't. Why do people refer to God as their Father? Is that a fair or accurate description? A.W. Tozier once said, "What comes into our mind when we think about God is the most important thing about us." What do you think?
Sunday October 21st:
Who is Jesus? Why did He come to die?
Aren't there a lot of different "versions" of Jesus: People like Allah, Buddah, Krishna, and others? What proof is there he even existed, yet alone is the Son of God? And how could one man's death do anything for me? Why is this Jesus important to me?
Sunday October 28th:
Who is the Holy Spirit? Why is the Holy Spirit important in my daily life?
We all know someone who has a really good "spirit" about them. Is that what's meant by the Holy Spirit? Sometimes our spirits may get a bit down, but that's just a part of life, right? Hey, if you can give me a better "spirit", by all means, bring it on!
